Went to Nikonusa this morning as my daily routine to check on the status of the 105 f2.8S lens. Been out of stock everywhere since its release, but today there was no box indicating it was backordered. Rushed through the checkout process as fast as I could and got confirmation its on its way to me via 2 day shipping!

Damn. Nikon just pulled the rug out from under me. Got the confirmation receipt but no lens. Called customer service last week and they said they'd be looking into this. Today I got an email saying, sorry but someone else already bought the last one - but let us know if there is anything else we can help with.
Nikon, that's a hard pill to swallow with a horrible aftertaste.
Nikon still has not refunded my money! They were finally nice enough to cancel the order, since they sold my lens to someone else after I paid for it and got a confirmation email. Do they think $1089 is theirs to keep? What a nightmare! Probably going to have to dispute the charge and have that money tied up for who knows how long. *sigh
Ya, I cant believe it either. After 2 emails today and a call that included climbing the ladder to talk to their boss, they finally refunded my money. They were literally trying to get me to wait another 7-10 business days before they could "release the funds".That SUCKS. I can't believe they'd do this! Good luck man, I hope you get it resolved quickly.
