Hey @Woodyg3, You will have to let me know how you like that Tamron. I love my 200 -500 but the weight is to much some times. Been thinking about that lens as. A more practical lens for me.
Hi Dan. I don't know if you have seen this thread, but I hvae made a few comments on the 100-400 there.

I'm pretty impressed with the sharpness and AF accuracy and speed. You have to twist the zoom ring a long ways to get from 100-400, which is a little annoying. It is pretty light, but it feeld very solid and appears to be buile quite well. I'll know more as I continue to shoot with it.![]()
Thanks Woody, I will check out that thread. I have been impressed with the new 70-200 by Tamron for the speed and accuracy of focus. It is fast. I wondered if that might be the case of the 1000-400.
Well I saw an older Sigma 120-300 2.8 on eBay and me being nosey decided to bid up and see what the reserve price was ...
Turns out no one else bothered to bid past me !! So I ended up with the lens for £380
Here is the beauty on the D500 and the first shot I took with it in work ...

Looks interesting! So how heavy would you say it is in comparison to your Sigma 70-200 f/2.8?
Ok - now I'm REALLY done....![]()
Local store showed "In Stock" this morning before they opened. Called right when they opened they had one left. Guess who bought it.
