The intention was to get a more standard lens for my D500 but i miss the m4/3 and especially the Olympus so ordered this kit for my none birding photography.

That is a nice setup Mike. It makes sense to use something like that for the regular non-birding shots. Congratulations.

I have gone the other way. I love the D700 I bought from Bill16. I use it for many things and reserve my 7200 for the 200-500.

Not 100% Nikon, but I really wanted one of these back in 2003, but at £1,699 body only, plus all the magazines I was working for still wanted 35mm and 6x6 colour transparencies, digital was still not used across the board with a lot of publications, managed to pick up this little beauty for £50 boxed with the strap, software and cables still sealed un-used, plus it still has the usual parts that go missing, (LCD cover and sync' socket covers)

Cool find! Man does that S2 Pro ever bring back some fond memories for me. My first DSLR was a refurbished S1 Pro. I don't remember how much I paid, but knowing me it had to be cheap or I wouldn't have bought it.

I enjoyed that Frankencamera (Fuji guts in a low end Nikon body) until Nikon came out with the D70. I sold it for close to what I bought it for & got the D70. That started a long line of DSLRs for me. These days I'm shooting with mirrorless cameras, but I am back with Fuji. :D

Enjoy your Fuji-Nikon. :encouragement:

I ended up buying the D70 back in 2004 while on a trip to the Canary Islands, a camera store there has just had the delivery of them, I was reading a review of the D70 in a photo mag at the airport on the way out, but it seemed there was a little waiting list for them in the U.K and they were a little over £1,000 for the body, luckily I got the D70 and 18/70 DX lens for £730.00, since then I've upgraded to the D90 and then to the D7000, and looking to upgrade again to the D7100 or 7200, but there's always been the S2 lurking at the back of my mind, but as it wasn't going to be used for a main camera, I didn't want to spend silly amounts on one and also wanted one in good condition.

Finally! A well-constructed lighting kit bag that ACTUALLY holds all my stuff (two compact light stands [with swivels attached!], two 46" umbrellas, three speed-lights, one YN-360, associated batteries, chargers, gel kit, etc.) without bursting at the seams and doesn't cost an arm and a leg (~$50); the Impact Lighting Kit Bag #3.

Joy!

Have one of these on the way. Will get it Wed. I had purchased an acratech gp with quick release, but didn't care for it. Felt I had to really crank down on the knobs to get it to hold. Was going to get the bh40 rrs head, but preferred the knobs on this one, and figured I'd never have to get another ball head after buying this one.
