i thought you had splashed out on a 200-500? lol

Oh man, I wish. I had the money saved to add a lens or whatever to my gear, but I gave most of it to a family member who needed it. If they decide to repay me, then maybe one of those nice long lenses will be mine.

Got a new to me Tripod and Ball head. The Tripod is a Gitzo Traveler Carbon Fiber. The ball head is an ARCA Swiss Z1 dual pan with a quick release. A friend sold it to me at a good price or I could not have afforded it. I should have used the tripod for the shot I was shaking a bit, but I could not figure out how to do that :D

Danno, some beautiful equipment there, and a good deal is always great. My latest purchase, (I am always way slow due to being broke most of the time) is a low mileage D600. Trying to get some time to shoot that camera, already liking it well. Larry.

Thanks Larry, it was a good friend price and I am thankful. That 600 will be nice to get out and shoot.

Hotflyer, I have the Tamron 70-200mm 1:2.8 lens earlier version before VC Man that is a good lens, mine has to struggle somewhat in low light but when it locks on gives great results. Hope that they have solved that with your model. Have a good day. Larry.

Just ordered the Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 Di VC USD G2 Lens. Should arrive next week.:)
This BEAST of a lens practically lives on my D750; there's nothing about this lens I don't like.

I strongly suggest you take advantage of the fact the AF can be tuned at four distances for each of three focal lengths.

I will have to get the tap in console in that case. :)
Tamron will fine tune the AF for you under warranty if you want to send in your lens, but I used the Console myself.

And it *will* be a time-consuming PITA to tune the AF at 12 different points, but do it anyway. You'll be glad you did.

Bought another Tenba roller case, this time the smaller compact, these have actually been discontinued, SRS Microsystems in Watford had it in sale for £149, ideal if i only want to take one Dslr, a few lenses and my trusty little P7100

Those are very cool, I really want one as well and have thought about it for a couple of years now.

I've seen the ads on facebook, however the same ball is $15 on Amazon (80mm size).
I'd return it personally. They've done a nice job with fancy packaging and advertising to make you think you are getting more than you really are.

I finally popped for a 120cm black Hawkesmill Kensington strap for my black X100T. I love the Westminster on my F3 and this was a natural pick for me. 25% off on Black Friday sealed the deal :)

I wish I had one back when Nikonites ran the Upside Down weekly challenge. Shooting through one of those would have been ideal since it flips the image!

I bought a two Hoya HD Circular Polarizer filters. Currently I have an HD2 CP filter, and it's my understanding that the only difference between the HD and HD2 is the warranty. The HD3 is much higher in price but is a newer design. My HD2 works great though so these will be fine. Having more than one, I won't have to keep switching the filter from lens to lens. And the price of $71.95 each isn't bad for the quality. Plus it's a slim profile filter (which cuts down on vignetting) and has front threads so a lens cap can be put on it. Those are two criteria I really prefer when buying filters.

One time I made the mistake of ordering a CP filter that didn't have front threads. What a pain not being able to put on a lens cap. I had to keep removing the filter every time I was done with the lens. :(
