A used Nikkor AF-S ED 28-70 F/2.8D.

Liking it a lot. Less than a third of what the new 24-70 F/2.8 goes for in these parts.

Recently acquired a Minolta X-700, currently at the shop for an overhaul.
I bought a Yashica Electro 35 GSN last night.

Yesterday, I ordered an 8 gig Graphite Lytro light field camera. It should be here around the middle of next week.

This purchase was precipitated by my response about flat lens technology and finding out that Lytro was still in business, much to my amazement!

Under $80 including the tripod adapter and shipping!

The Lytro Light Field Camera kit arrived on April 13th. It had ONE (1) image shot through it and the person put it up for sale!

For all practical purposes, this is brand new!

8 Gig Sea Glass complete kit. Here is a picture.

I have been having a lot of fun trying this thing out!
It is very fascinating in a novelty sort of way.

my new Manfrotto 680B with a Jobby Head (running out of cash for a much better head - that will come later but the salesman at "The Camera Store" assured me it was more than strong enough for my D610 and a 200-400 lens (total weight about 5.5pound).

My 35mm is on the way and I want to thank RocketCowboy for the fantastic deal he gave me on it. I am going to Lake Guntersville State Park this weekend and am going to give it a good workout getting ready for a Landscape Workshop at Little River Canyon the following weekend.

Another day in the city, another "latest purchase"
A deal from the clearance bin I could not pass up.

Lowpro Vidcam 5 - not that I have a video camera, but now I need to buy one eh?
Makes for a great walk about bag over the shoulder messenger bag style.
Holds my 200-400 old long Tammy mounted on the D610 with room to spare.

Playing with yet another free photo editor from the Windows 8 store called Fotor

Ok, after shelling out the money for my kid's new fencing get-up, I had a little left in the "free funds" department, and a night of the week open, so I enrolled for my next class "Advanced Digital Photography". Some folks around me asked "WHY!?", stating that my pictures were already good enough. My response? "Not for me." Learned SO MUCH from the basic and intermediate courses, so I can't wait to start the next step! 5 more courses, and I can be a certified photographer.

As soon as a couple of items I want are available again, I'll be spending some Amazon card rewards too. ;)

I'm trying to decide between more "class" time, or on-site doing time. Right now, I really just need to find time to press that shutter release button...

Local photo shop, Apertures Photo. The owners teach classes at the local community college and one of the local high schools, then teach classes on the side as well. Very knowledgeable folks, very friendly, GREAT instructors... and they're Nikon shooters too (extra bonus).

Love it because they're very in depth, hands-on instructors as opposed to just lectures with homework (but there IS homework). Plus, when you turn in your homework, they review in class, and the critiques and comments are real. This isn't a "Wow, nice photo!" kind of class just to get money out of the wannabe folks out there. No "participation ribbons" here!
