I've been playing with the idea of buying a Zeiss lens due to their reputation for producing quality photos. And they do. For a pretty high price. Reviewing DxO shows the Nikon 85mm f1.8G on a D800 ranked at #15 overall. A Zeiss IS number one, at almost $5,000. For less than 1/10th that price I decided that #15 isn't to shabby. As a matter of fact, it's probably the only lens in the top 25 that costs less than $500. Mine should be delivered on Thursday. (And I can use it on my D3300 too.)

My package from KEH.com arrived today. Been looking forward to playing with my new 20-40 Tamron wide angel lens. It is F2.7-3.5 and I was impressed that it stops down to 2.7.

Now to learn to shoot wide.

Any tips?

The messy home office is where I spend way too much time playing with pictures, video games and hanging out in forums. that is two images superimposed in layers - the inner box is the widest I could have shot with my 28-80mm lens - the 20-40 lets me shoot wider as shown in the image by the area outside the white rectangle. The images is just to demonstrate the width of 20 vs 28mm - otherwise a pretty poor photograph.
