Well I managed to finally buy the batteries, charger, and flash! As Glenn recommended I bought the LA CROSSE NEW TECHNOLOGY BC 700 ALPHA POWER BATTERY CHARGER NEW IN BOX, and Panasonic Eneloop Pro AA Rechargeable Batteries 4x2 High-End Model BK-3HCC/4! 
Then I had a delema of what Nikon flash to get, and as luck would have it I found a new sb-800 for $250.00 and free shipping and I just had to jump on the deal! Lol
It was bought for a D300 and before he had a chance to do more than see it work, he traded his D300 in for a mirror less camera and had no use for the new sb-800! Lol
So hopefully I'll be able to take some better lighted photos soon(when the it all gets here)! Lol

Ok since I wasn't sure what diffuser would work best for me, I bought a couple different types!
I bought an Universal Lambency Flash Diffuser Clear and Cloud with Dome Cover Set and a 12" Portable Quick Setup Speedlite Octagona Diffuser Softbox! Hopefully they will work well for most of my needs. Though I'm still going to try to find the materials to make a diffuser similar to what my buddy [MENTION=9753]Scott Murray[/MENTION] uses for his great macro shots!
I welcome any suggestions for better/different diffusers that will work with the sb-800 speed light!

Datacolor Spyder 4 Express Colorimeter
I imagine you bought this because you do your own printing, right? Man, I've been lusting after one of these for a long time. I've even tried to get a round-robin type exchange going among members since you only need to use it once every 6 months. So I'll be keenly interested in your opinion of this device.
Dave, I bought the Spy4Pro and it really helped my photos out. Mine before always seemed to be too bright (hot) and the colors didn't look right before I started using it. I dont print my own, well not that many, but I post on share sites and it made a huge difference. Now that could be because my monitor is not top notch and getting a little long in the tooth. I think they are worth it and never regretted this purchase.
Well as Kevin also echoed, I just need this to calibrate my monitor as occasionally I try to make adjustments in Lightroom or Photoshop and, at least with the D4, sometimes I'm still not happy. Also a professional wedding photographer told me this is the first essential thing I should get if I'm going to be working with the photos post-capture. Well, what I would do then is buy it, use it and then sell it again LOL. Seriously though, this is the junior version in the lineup, got it for $74 from Adorama, and it has the SAME sensor as their more expensive pro and elite versions, or at least from what I could tell.
Thanks Kevin and crycocyon - I keep going back and forth on either the spyder vs. the colormunki. I suppose they're both equal, just with different bells and whistles. Once we find a place and get settled I'll go ahead and make the plunge. Something like this would be perfect to get 4 or 5 others together to defray the cost and just pass it around. We used to do something like this with movies and music. You get an external full of tunes, download and erase the disk and fill it up with your music or movies and send it on its way. It worked out really nicely. I could see something like that working for a spyder or munki, one of the two.
Dave, I have the Spyder4Pro. It suggests recalibrating every 2 weeks, but I set mine for every 4 weeks. That way I can do it every couple of weeks at my own convenience. One time instead of recalibrating right away, I waited a day. Well...when I tried to recalibrate my monitor the next day, I wound up having to do a full calibration which takes longer and requires all the info to be added again. Recalibration was no longer an option. Not sure how accurate it would be if you only recalibrate every 6 months.
That seems excessive, no? That would imply an uncalibrated monitor changes like crazy every few weeks. And while I can't say that's not the case, it sure doesn't seem like it is. But who knows, maybe they do run amok within a couple of weeks. I guess I'll have to pick one up and see for myself.
