Awesome lens!!! Congrats!! Worth every penny you spent on it. The 24-70mm f/2.8G is my favorite lens and spends 85% of the time on my D800. It's probably the most versatile lens Nikon makes.

Thanks Dave. Got a feeling it will be getting a lot of use, if it ever stops raining I'll get to take it out.

Local Craigslist ad...70-200 f/2.8 VRII. Used once! $1800.
Been listed for a few weeks.

I hemmed and hawed...and hemmed some more...I have the 70-200 f/4 version.

Called the seller yesterday, after a 50 minute phone conversation he invited me to his home (4 miles away).

We talked for a good 2 hours and I came home with the lens!! :cool:

I paid considerably less than his original asking price...:D

I ordered a Pocketwizard 802-503 cable last night, time to play with remote shutter triggering :)
