Learnt a lot with my D3200 over the last year, hope to learn even more with this.
That was the jump I made. You will love it. Lots to learn. Very different. But I bought a good manual and watched a lot of YouTube videos. Enjoy!Learnt a lot with my D3200 over the last year, hope to learn even more with this.

Zhongyi 135/2.8.
It built like a Leica R lens, but the optical performance just so so for this $100 something lens..
Left picture is wide open @ 2.8, image is really soft. On the right is @ 5.6, so probably the safe f stop will be around f4 to produce a decent bokeh.

Ok, this is not a latest purchase post, but it is a near miss of one. I went to a retail photo store that I've shopped since the early 1970s as a kid. I went in to buy an Arca-mount plate for a tripod head, some repair parts for a tripod, and a rear-LCD screen loupe. So as I'm waiting for the clerk to look for/find the tripod parts, he asks me what I shoot and I tell him I primarily shoot a D700. Before I know it, he's leading me outside with a new D750/Nikon 200-500 mm AF-S lens combo to try outside. The combo was so good, it took every bit of discipline to walk out of the store without either one or the other, or both of them. If he had said anything like "we have same as cash financing" I would not have been able to resist. This episode rekindled the joy and memories of buying gear from a real store, where although it is a bit more expensive, it was a real hands-on experience. I am now quite confident that I'll be back later this summer and will be purchasing the camera, and possible the lens, as well.
I can hardly wait!

also added a
SB-400 from their used bin for $50. Works like a charm, was looking for an inexpensive third flash and this one got some great reviews for a tiny flash.
One big limitation is that it does not rotate but does tilt for bounce flash (the primary reason for getting it) and sadly it does not work as a slave in the CLS system. I suppose if I were to get triggers it would be jim-dandy though. More handy than the pop-up flash. And for $50 it took me well beyond the 'free shipping" limit.

I get first dibs on that 300 F2.8![]()
Oh, I don't think that will happen, Kevin. Earlier, I filed adoption papers at the courthouse, and that lens is officially my baby. I'm just looking for its siblings, now!!!Of course, my wife might not be very happy about it....
I may have forgotten to mention that they have a used AF-S 400mm f/2.8 in the store, as well. I told him I didn't even want to see that one.
I do remember that I still owe you a test drive with the 300, though!!
