It did not feel much like spring today with temperatures hovering in the low 20s F, lots of wind and more than a fair number of snow squalls. To keep thinking spring, I checked my resurrected hyacinth from last year. Hydroponic roots can be interesting.

Today, was one of those crazy days after work. By the time I got home, I realized that I still needed a photo for today. I will warn you, it is one of those opportunistic feline photos.

The dog had just walked by. :)

During the brief time that the rain stopped and the sky lightened a little (very little, in fact :) ), I snapped this of a rather perplexed-looking robin.

Hmmmmm....

While out and and about running errands this morning, I saw these two geese walking across a still frozen pond.

I then looked to the right of the pond, and up on the hill, were two horses, and a man spreading hay for them.

It was nice to take photos of something other than cats, dog, and birds at the bird feeder. :)

It's been just generally dismal and windy out. Now it is snowing. To see green things growing, I took this of some of my succulents, which live in spite of me. :)

Who ever said March goes out like a lamb? We had snow last night. :( This morning, after I walked the dog and was getting ready for work, I saw a group of chickadees in the forsythia bush. There are two chickadees in this photo....

Snow? Who Ordered It?

While out with the photography class this afternoon, I took this photo of a tree shadow. I was talking with one student about texture and patterns. She noticed the tree's shadow in the snow.

I like sunny spring days. They make me smile. :)

This is the continuing photo journal of my hyacinth bulb. I just thought the bulb, itself, was interesting.

Rather interesting small shelf fungus on a very small dead tree stump.

More bird photos. Over the past two days, we have been inundated with dark-eyed juncos, and of course, the perennial chickadees.

I just love the behavior of chickadees. They are just cute.

I have no idea what this junco is looking for. Out of the photo, is a robin out on a worm hunt.

Nasty, windy, damp, and dreary day. At least someone thought there was something interesting outside to look at. I also like her reflection in the window. I did not notice that until I looked at the photo. I love reflections, anyway.

Very nice. Interesting how we see things in photos only after we start processing them.

Don,

Thanks. I know, that happens more often than I realize. My students laugh when I say I have a new bug photo, then I take a closer look when I am processing it, and it's another photo of bug porn (their term, not mine). They love it because it is nature.

Today did not really feel much like spring: cold, damp, some snow spittles, and very windy at times. I did get out in spite of the icky weather but not too much was photographically inspiring. When all else fails, there are always birds....

We always try to get the sharpest photo of a bird and its plumage. Sometimes, a silhouette works, too.

Nuthatches are one of my favorite species of birds. We have lots of nuthatches all over. I love how they sound, and their movements are comical at times. This guy was looking for grubs in the tree. I think it was tired of eating sunflower seeds.

It was a beautiful, sunny day with temperatures in the 50s F. I snapped this photo of three ducks. I have no idea what type of duck they are. If someone knows, please tell me. TIA.
