Okay, I am going to try again to upload today's photo. I had a lot of problems earlier because the Web site was so slow, my browser would time out.
My husband has loved John Deere tractors since he was a little boy growing up in rural PA. I tease him and tell him he married me for my tractor (a real one
). Anyway, I try to get him a small John Deere tractor for Christmas, each year, when I can find new ones. He suggested I take some photos of his "tractors" for Project 365. So here is the first one.
My Big Green Tractor... NOT!
Yes, I know, it's that same succulent I use as a prop. That tells you how small the tractor is (about 1.5 inches in length). It's a tiny, little guy.

My husband has told me about them. He spent 3 years at Homestead AFB when he was in the Air Force. He said they would even climb walls.

HaHa! I live in the outer limits of the Twilight Zone in the nether reaches of south central New York State (better known as Broome County, where some very creative people came from such as Rod Serling (Twilight Zone) and Johnny Hart, creater of the B.C. comic strip). It must be that Twilight Zone influence resulting in tractor-growing house plants.

Another day of indoor photos, no cats, though.
I took a photo of a silk orchid that is part of a flower arrangement I have. I then played with some of the in-camera settings that are available on my D3000. I used the monochrome cyanotype and then the color outline (which gives a monochrome image, which does not make sense to me).

I like the original and the so-called color outline the best. Maybe I should have tried the sepia tone instead of the cyanotype.
I have had this camera for 3 years and am still playing with features I normally never use. I am glad I joined this group and am doing the Project 365. It makes me think outside the box, which is a good thing.

Today it was warm enough to venture outside. I had errands to do, so I had to go out anyway.
We have a rhododendron in front of our house that I refer to as a biothermometer. Once the temperature gets down to the upper 20s (F), the leaves start to curl, the colder it is, the tighter the leaves curl. It was about 15 deg F when I took the following photo this morning (I checked after I took the photo):

As I was driving down the road, I saw a group of 3 deer (sorry, it's hard to think of 3 white tail deer as a herd) standing by the side of the road in the sun.

More of the same deer. It just stood there as I took photos and cars passed by in the opposite direction.
