I like all these photos BUT I am wondering how many people know what "Pert near " means. I do but I am old and from the deep south.

I, also of southern extraction, shore nuff get what pert near means. Reminds me of being with my grandfather at church or the hardware store.

At the beginning of this thread I talked about pert near. I am also from the south...southern Calif. originally. A number of years ago S. Omar Barker penned a poem called Purt Near Perkins. Google it and you would have to agree it is the ultimate "pert near".

No clouds to make for a pretty sunrise so I just sipped my coffee and took a quick shot from in the house.

This thunderhead stayed in the same place, building for at least three hours. May not look like much but is probably 30,000 ft high
