So am I right in suspecting this is a d750 bodied, d5 specced, dx sensored offering? That is a whole lot of win and exactly what I was hoping Nikon would release. I don't wish to switch to FX as I have quite a DX lens collection but the d7xxx series lacks the articulated screen and wireless connectivity that I would like. D5300 was the only option with these until now. Big low light fan
I'm mainly interested in the low light aspect of this frame, i don't care for the 4K ability, Snapbridge, or huge buffer (i've never max'd out my D7200). Slightly surprised about the smaller sensor, but i understand the logic. Great that it has a dedicated ISO button on the top. Anyone wanna buy my D7200?
I can't tell if it supports HSS. No mention of auto FP. If not, that'll be disappointing but it's preordered anyway. The rest of the features sound great! Guess I'll finally be forced to get an XQD card.

The ribbon is still exposed. At least from what I see on a video preview on Matt Grangers YouTube channel.I'm drooling over the buffer spec alone. My biggest question that doesn't seem to be addressed anywhere concerns the LCD: does it have the same exposed ribbon cable like the D750, along with a page in the manual stating that no moisture whatsoever should come into contact with it? I would assume it must be different on the D500 since Nikon terms this as a pro body.
But I bought a D7200 two weeks ago!
I've calmed down a bit now and stopped cursing Nikon, having seen one suggestion it will be $2000 for the body only - I don't know if that's US or Australian dollars.
Moreover, it gives me confidence to stick with the DX format and not move up to FX. I can keep my DX lenses and when I'm ready (and got the dollars) buy the D500 body.
I'll have a nice D7100 and D7200 for sale in March.
Well I would sell the D7100 today, haven't used it in about 6-8 months. The D7100 resale value will be in the toilet by February.![]()

It's already in the toilet Charlie
I got 50% of new for my two year old D7100 with less than 5000 clicks on it, sigh...
But, that's about what you would expect for bodies !
Cheers, Don
