Day 77
Today I took out the good old 18-55 kit lens, to experiment a little with wide angle. Experiment is the key word, so bare with me :)
Also, I played a bit with a dramatic sky. I didn't bring my grad ND, so I had to make the effect in post. Can't figure out if I over cooked them...

Not over cooked at all. Looks nice. I love dramatic skies. I even like them over cooked a little to really accent it.

Thanks a lot Don :)
I find it hard to judge, from time to time, if I should pull back a few nudges or if I can give it a little more pop. But glad that you like these ones :)

I don't mind at all!
Especially if you would be so kind as to say what you did? ;)
It looks way better, I think

Re: nidding's first year of shooting

I used Nik Collection - Vivesa II and upped the Structure in the clouds just enough to get more definition. Then de-saturated the ground just a little and lightened the woods and increased the structure. All in all I spent about a minute or maybe two giving a little more POP.

I love this technique for skies. When it really looks good is clouds like this or when you have those puffy white clouds in a blue sky.

Thanks! I'll try and replicate that. I'm not quite sure what the structure parameter corresponds to in aftershot, but otherwise it seems pretty straight forward :)

Day 79
Totally stressed at the moment. I've got a short internship at a high school where I follow a teacher, and see how she works, and this week I have gotten the opportunity to teach the young people. This means a lot of work, as I both want to try out some teaching approaches and give the students some inspirational classes. I've never really taught anything before in my life, so there goes a lot of work into every class. Sadly this has had its impact on photo time.
But I took another abstract one. Hope you enjoy it :)

I'm very happy you like it :)
I put the book and glasses like so completely by chance. It was only because the time was getting closer to midnight and I hadn’t taken a picture yet, that I started looking around and saw it by chance.

Day 82
For some reason I have visited more zoos by now this year, than I have for maybe the past 10 years. Today was kinda funny, as half the animals seemed to be in heat, and we thus saw more than our share of animals trying to make babies. From penguins to ant eaters and wild dogs. It was particularly interesting to try and explain what the animals were doing to our 7 year old :D
