Thanks, Marcel. Since my car accident last March, photography has suffered. Back injury (hit from behind), Physio, lack of mobility, lack of endurance etc., plus busy at work and lousy weather, by and large, have really cut into my camera time. Joined a Gym a few months ago to help speed up recovery. Getting back into it.... should be posting more again.

Thanks for the kind words, butterfly was a lucky shot. I happened upon it late in the fall and the colours in the background are those purple weedy looking flowers. Perfect setup. Add in an morning sun and it made for a nice image.

Sorry to hear about your car accident Art, I didn't know. I wish you a good recovery, and that doesn't mean a too fast recovery followed by relapse. These things take time to heal and just make sure you don't try to overdo yourself, because if you do, the pain can come back...

So, I hope you feel better and better as fast as possible.

Thanks, Marcel. This has been going on since last March. The main problem is a disc pinching on my sciatic nerve. I have good days and bad days. However, the worst is behind me. The Gym has really helped, lost 10 lbs, 30 more to go! Getting fit should be huge factor in the recovery, but I don't think I will ever be 100% again. It is what it is.

The Red Neck Grebe has once again made an appearance in one of the parks I frequent. They are a delight to watch every spring as they go through their ritual of building a nest or two and raising their brood. I consider myself very lucky to experience this every year!

This is a 7 image stack. It started as 18 and went down from there for various reasons, mostly focus and not lining up during the stacking process.

The is a WASP that foolishly entered my house a couple of days ago...

Nikon D800
Nikon 105mm 2.8G

The last of the Cherry Blossoms at High Park. Lucky if they are still on the trees by next weekend!

Taken with my Nikon 105mm 2.8G lens.

The last time I was on, I spent about 30 minutes preparing a HOW TO post on something I was doing at the time.... When I went to post.... the session timed out. This is the only site I frequent where that happens, haven't been back. I have complained about this before, something similar happened over a year ago. Complete waste of time.

I got THIS message today, but the post was successful...

Request Timeout

This request takes too long to process, it is timed out by the server. If it should not be timed out, please contact administrator of this web site to increase 'Connection Timeout'.

Currently taking a Photography Course at a downtown college that has allowed me to use studio time and access to models. Greatly enjoying the course. I share with you, the attached images, just to show you what the D800 (and I am sure, the D810) can do in the studio. This camera is KING with the right lighting.....

Some sample portraits from my studio sessions:
