SORRY ABOUT THAT, RON!!

I made a TYPO in the original post. I typed "s" instead of "x" (near each other on the keyboard). My apologies.

I have just returned from a weekend photography trip to Holiday Beach, Ontario (near Windsor). Purpose of the trip was to photograph the "1,000's of Migrating Hawks" that come through this particular spot in Ontario this time of year. The Audubon Society have voted Holiday Beach #3 best bird viewing site (so I was told).

Lots and lots of birds to see, but mostly out of my range for a good image. The images below are of captive birds being shown by the Peregrine Society. Amazing birds!! Very impressed with the organizers of the Hawk Migration Weekend, even though it did not really meet my expectations.

The Great Blue Herons are now in town. This is the best time of year to photograph them at High Park, a massive park in Toronto that is home to all sorts of nature!

I captured these images as the sun came up in the morning over top of the trees. The Heron perched itself on this branch and stayed they preening for about an hour. A large throng of photographers gathered to partake in this treat!

A few, from hundreds of images I took:

These are great shots! Awesome!

There are, though, some shots where you could raise the levels and they would really pop!

Hi Everyone, my apologies for my long absence from Nikonites. I have been extremely busy with my day job over the last 6-8 weeks and I have worked many 6 day weeks in this period. Just so happens, I went through an unplanned, busy, but fruitful stretch. Always nice to make a little extra and took full advantage.

The weather has also not at all co-operated when I did have free time, so it has been a bit of a lean month or two for photography. Posting a few shots for you taken here and there with my D800.

Hope to be a little more prolific in the coming month.

Enjoy!

The Yellow car is an experiment with Photoshop and DxO, first attempt, pretty happy with it.

Believe it or not, this is my first, best Blue Jay capture. I seldom see them and they move around so fast I have yet to be able to capture one! I have found a park that seems to have quite a few and I hope to get more images in the coming weeks. Taken last weekend.

This is a very nice, gentleman photographer I met while out relaxing with my D800. I chose to post this image in B&W.

Tip for the car.
Duplicate the layer.
Make a mask of the car (new layer).
Use clone tool and “remove car” (background layer)
Use motion blur on for background layer.

Interesting concept, only I really dislike the background! Would make the car much more funky looking however.

I will have a look. Thanks.

Taken today at James Gardens. As always, I had packed my kit to leave after a long morning in the cold, and this little fellow landed just in front of me.

I had to set up and back up. Lucky to get this shot. One of my personal favourites.

I was working on a Christmas themed image. Not sure if this works, but I like the image. Shot at 50 ISO using my Nikkor 105mm G f2.8 VR.
