Actually @mikew, it is a Eurasian or Collared dove. They are not native to the US. The Mourning dove does not have the black collar. The White-Winged, Mourning, Eurasian, and Inca dove I know. Those are some of the few birds that I do know. Ha!

I used to keep and breed collared doves in the 50s,then by the late sixties they where too common and no breeders could sell them and most where released, although the experts:confused: like to say otherwise thats why the became established in the UK.

LOL, I called it morning dove because it was morning and it was a dove.
Then I guess it wasn't "Mourning" in the morning, it was just morning when you saw the dove. Ha! The Eurasian Collared dove have multiplied so much and being they are non-native, it is open season to hunt them all year round in Arizona without a limit.

Feb 2 of my Photography Project 366 - Crazy morning clouds. I could see the colors in the sky and was hoping the camera could pick them up - it did. And the second was an evening shot when the sun was low an lighting up the mountains.

I like this last one and think you could do a few more with a bit more by way of links and a bit less. realy cool

My methodology that got me to three links showing was what my end product I had in mind. I wanted the last link to be in the center of the image and I wanted the link to be the size it came out. Those parameters put me at coincidentally three links.

I didn't really have it in mind for more, less, or how many I ended up with. It was all driven by presentation of the last link.

Glad you like it. Looks like a book cover to me.

It would even look good in the horizontal.
