April 4th, piano person of the day.

I was lucky to have all this light for today's picture. Window is voluntary blown white to remove distractions from the person. I used a much faster shutter speed today not to be caught with shake blur.

D700, 24-70 2.8 @ 3.2, 34mm, 1/640, iso 800.

April 10th.
Went out with the 600 and 24-120. The river is flowing like crazy and it made for some good shots.

April 11th, I went back to the dam to get the shots I wanted since yesterday I had left my 16-35 at home and only found out when I got there. So, here are a few long exposures done with the Polaroid variable neutral density filter. For those who wonder, don't get this thing, because it smears dark blotches in the skies and foreground depending on how much density you turn it on, and the color is just awful. This is why some shots had to be B&W...

Stil April 15th and I got another portrait done this afternoon. Quite a change of mood but I can feel the sadness in the eyes.

April 16th, our city is under water and I got back downtown to take a few pictures of the river overflowing. I only have time to post this one for now, but water is moving fast.

Whoa!! That looks intense! I'm thinking with all the record snow fall here in North America, floods and flooding will be leading the news in quite a few cities as the spring thaw gets going.

Here is a pano done on the other side of the bridge. I only had a 28mm lens for widest, so I panned and stitched. 4 or 5 vertical shots to produce a super high def very large file.

Of course there is some loss in the file compression for this forum...

Nice, Marcel! Does she play both the clarinet and the piano?

No, she just plays the clarinet. But they do rehearse at home and the pianist and others enjoy the setting there. They have a wonderful view over a lake.
