What is it about HDR and snow that gives a real 3-dimensional look to the photos? They almost look like those textured, plasticized pop-out paintings I remember my grandparents having where they would bump out sections to make it look "real". Nice work, Marcel.

Feb 22nd, just to have a shot, I played around with a pen and ink pot.

Thanks Pat, the light…well, it's very complicated… Hum, I'm so lazy that I just put the pen on the counter top in the kitchen and used the window's natural light. I think it's the white paper that brings it up. So, I guess if I'm a little lazy, I'm resourceful… :)

It did NOT look artificial, looked very natural but I was having trouble accounting for some of the relections... again, very nice job! (and again I learn somethin!)

Thanks

Which specific shot are you referring to Jake?

Marcel the only thing I would ever say to you about your photography is pay attention to the hands and fingers...they are critical concerning pianos... :)

Feb 23rd, I spent most part of the day tearing down my basement floor, moving "stuff" around to replace the tiles, so my place is a total mess:

But it was snowing anyway. So I got out the door to get these 3 shots that I merged since I didn't have the right lens...

What? No piano? :)

Love to see someone else with the house in disarray. We have been remolding our house one room at the time for about 2 years now. We had one room that we had redone 4 or 5 years ago that we really liked and were not going to redo it until a pipe sprung a leak and ruined one wall and warped the engineered hardwood floor. Oh well, added it to the list.

I really enjoy seeing your photos

No, no piano indeed. I've been waiting about 5 years to be without a piano in the shop so I can do this. As soon as I started, customers started to want major rebuilding done and I just say no. I've got to finish this BEFORE the next job comes in. It would be just too much to have to move an all taken apart piano to install tiles… No way José.

That's a lot of pizza. You have quite an appetite. :wink-new:

I knew someone was going to bite on this one. Pizza boxes are just a cheap way to store 5 pounds coils of piano wire. So many different sizes. At first I was using plastic containers but they were just a little too small and they'd pop open creating a mess. So pizza boxes it is now.

Thanks for looking.

I grew up with pianos, organs, accordions, French horns and Trumpets in the house. Took 5 years of piano and the depth of my knowledge is where middle C is. My sister got the music genes in my family. She has a beautiful shinny baby grand in her living room at home. I did play the French horn in Junior high through College though.

LOL you like Pizza? Maybe a lot :)

I actually bought empty pizza boxes, 20 of them. The person at the restaurant I went to didn't want to sell them to me thinking I was going to open up a business… But, yes, I confess, I like pizza, but these boxes never had one inside. :)

Got up early to get some shots before the wind blows away all that fluffy white stuff Floridians are so afraid of. :)

So now I can get back in the basement and continue the demolition.
