I also wanted to post this one from today under the bridge
Marcel, very nice shot! What bridge is that? Over what waterway?

As a single picture, I would agree to your crop. As a matter of fact, my 2 first shots were vertical and for a portrait, this is what I would use.But this is going to be part of an ensemble of pictures and I kind of like the division the shadow makes. It is confusing to look at since there seem to be 2 points of interest and the eyes are fighting to stay at one place but keep getting nagged by the shadow. This is my second shot and it's probably a better portrait of her as well. So maybe you'll get me to change my selection… Thanks for sharingObviously she is not a photo bug like usshe is extremely clear in the pic... Just a thought, more for my own learning than anything else..\My understanding is that if someone(thing) is moving/looking in a direction... it is best to have open space on that end... (hey what do I know??) You commented on the shadow so....Could you....Vertical crop to the right of shoulder such that the shadows are gone and more open space to the direction she is looking(actual, the more I look, the more she is not looking as much leftr as I sort of thought)Following image is Marcel's with a crop by me for a question I was asking...View attachment 27910Again, looking to learn from question... Also, I hope it was alright to crop as I did as an example as I clearly stated it is your picture... (If out of line or that is not proper to do, please say so and I will not again...)Pat in NH

This is my piano person of the day. Funny that she chose not to look at the camera and that her shadow on the piano kind of leads her person away from the shot too.

Marcel, I like your work and think you take pictures that you can be very proud of. I am not a portrait photographer but I went a little way back to post #171 and looked at your last piano portrait to compare the two and like it better. It is the one with the black grand piano and it was taken from a lower level and not looking down on the subject. It is like getting down on a kids or subjects level to take the picture, it just seems more interesting. Just my nit pick. Keep up the great work.
