Marcel, this one just doesn't look like a image that you would have taken.
What makes you think this way about this image Jeff? Maybe you mean this doesn't look like an image that I would post... But you know that, in order to get the special shot we and others like so much, many more are never shown.
It's funny though because I posted it on FB and it got more positive comments than some other shots that I thought were better looking.

Just... wow. The tiny intricacy and detail of things never ceases to amaze me, and you captured this perfectly!
I have to re-post this image since I've been told and I agreed that it lacked contrast and was a tad dark. So here's my corrected version. But I'm not happy because I just couldn't get enough depth of field. The windy situation just prevented me to use a slow shutter speed and the shot itself was tuff enough to take.
So here's a second trial.

I know, but don't worry, I kept the nefs. It's just that the jpegs looked so good that I saved myself work and just posted them. Now if I was going to print, I'd certainly use the raw files.Nice! But why the small basic jpeg size? Doesn't that somehow limit the amount of post processing you can do?
Yes, it is an older lens without VR or OS (for Sigma).Nice photos, Marcel! Was the top one taken with an older 105mm lens? I noticed the flare, and newer lenses don't always create such sharp corners in the aperture blades like this one has. That's one thing I like about older lenses.
