Not sure if I posted one of these yet. If so, you get a duplicate.

Very interesting topic, I can see me walking into something now, because instead of looking where I'm walking, I will be looking at manhole covers :)

Well I set out this morning, camera in hand looking for manhole covers, I know this might sound daft, but not as easy as you think.

loads were dirty, cover in paint, tarmac or generally worn out. Thinking to myself, how hard can it be to find a nice clean manhole cover.

so after a 4 mile walk, I took a picture of the best 2 I could find, So I am going to give my self a challenge, to see If I can find some better ones

Good job Paul. I like the little heart on the second one.

Its called a Kitemark, to ensure that it meets with British standards, you will notice they both have the code EN124

I never noticed it myself, it was only when you pointed it out, and got me wondering as to what it was.(just had to google it :) )

Here's a couple from my town. The one with the logo is only a couple years old; the other is much older as the top is almost worn smooth.

I just got back from a trip to Eastern Europe. Here is an interesting manhole cover in Bratislava, Slovakia. His name is 'Cumil'.

We were there in November and my wife took this one of a little girl posing for her mom. Not the greatest shot but the little girl was amusing to watch. What is even funnier is to see how many people pose with Čumil.
