This big Goanna was on my driveway when I came home from work today. By the time I raced into the house and came back out with my camera, he had just found a tree. He is a about 4 feet long ( 1.2 meters ).

You have to watch these guys, they will try and climb up your legs thinking you are a tree when they are frightened. Those big claws can do you some damage.

Some lizards in Hawaii... These are back when I first got my Nikon before going to Hawaii and hadn't really learned about ISO and noise. A shame... but they still came out ok.

Who can ID this little fellow.

I am sorry the picture isn't the best in focus shot. I tried to get a quick photo before some kids came screaming around the corner on the path and I quickly moved him off the path and back into the grass.

Does anyone know what type of turtle this is? I have never seen one with a tail like this before.
