He might have bitten off more than he could chew. I know snakes can get down some amazingly large prey, but that seems a bit extreme. Do you know if he succeeded?

I don't know. He took the fish under a rock and I never saw him after that.

That's what I thought. I was amazed at how he unhinged his jaws and how wide his mouth stretched.

Haven't seen one that tiny in a while. Looks like it still has some of its baby stripes.

This is him from a different angle. I wouldn't call him tiny, he's maybe 3-4ft long. I regularly see them much smaller around here.

Not a very good picture. It was heavily backlit, but this guy was maybe 2-3 feet long. Shot him on Friday at Cypress Gardens. No, not the one in Florida.
