Hard to believe I have made it to the start of the 12th and final month!! Seems like yesterday that we started but there have been days where it felt like years ago.

Feel good factor today. I saved my subject from a horrible death. I found him wandering across a busy road. Nearly ran over him then did a U turn to go rescue him.
He was a bit reluctant at first to pose - just curled up into a ball but eventually realised I meant him no harm and came out to play.
he is so low to the ground and in recently cut grass that a clear shot was difficult!
More's the pity

So here he is.

I must say he did look a bit of a tramp!

Great save. Always wonder why they have to cross busy roads. We've saved turtles crossing the road and they always try to turn and go back. Some strong instinct I guess.

Thanks mate.

I just hope he continues to walk away from the road.
When I drove to work the other morning very early (0230am) I saw a small brown thing on the road, I dodged as much as I could as I was doing 130km/hr (speed limit) when I got to work I found numerous echidna quills in my tyre. I do hope he survived, but I think I would have clipped him a bit.

The roads are put through their natural habitat, you will probably find paths off the side of the road where they have walked.

Some of the turtles we've helped went down a cement curb and were on asphalt roads. We have a lot of canals and too many housing developments.

I just wanted to try out my tripod tonight but had no plan.
This meant I could try slower shutter speeds so I went to a fairly busy "intersection" - a place where people emerge or enter the local riverside walk.
of course as luck would have it the only action I got was one cyclist before I was properly set up and in too much light. A real "Grrr ... " outing.

Here is the cyclist.

I would have preferred that shot in this light

And here is a BW version of the latter (just to show I am doing my homework!)

My photos are not so hot lately but I am learning a lot about LR and PS - information overload which now needs to be compartmentalised so that I know where and what it is when I need it.
Slowly getting there.

Nothing wrong with your photos Lawrence. I guess you are not 100% happy with your PP'ing at present but that'll improve once you get used to the new software. I'm thinking this last month might be the hardest. Dunno about you but I am out of inspiration and enthusiasm ATM and just want it finished, but I won't be caving in and giving up this close to the end :D and I hope you won't either ;)

No @Vixen I can't see me giving up unless I do so on the last day - just to prove a point. :)

Inspiration has gone but I am learning so much about PP. Have signed up to Lynda.com and find the videos and teaching style suit me perfectly. So everything is onwards and upwards but I am looking forward to 1/1/15 at very least.

Quick macro of a weed that I spent a few minutes (minutes mind you for something that I could not have achieved in days not too long ago) in post processing applying some of the techniques I have learned.

Did you get the dog shaking off the water Lawrence or did you run so your camera wouldn't get wet?
