They look good, DOF is a funny thing and if you are not level the DOF line will not be horizontal. Do not worry about this, I would advise using manual focus and see how you go with that.

Thanks Scott. I learn something everyday. I had no idea about the horizontal plane which makes absolute sense. Something to test out today!

Almost forgot to add the day's shot!

Found another walk that I have never been on before. Crossed paths with a lady and her husky - snapped a shot and am quite pleased with the result. I decided to take out the lead and some background clutter. Thank-you Lynda.com

I have a whole lot more of some trees that I want to process in B&W all based on Lynda.com's system of doing B&W which I found to be a real eye-opener.

I tried @Scott Murray's suggestion of manual focusing with my macro.
While the photos were not perfect I did enjoy trying my hand at it. Got some good bee ones and this flower - two options.

Maybe I should take that little background bud out. I originally left it in thinking it may add something and now I am not so sure.

@Lawrence did you set the focus and then zoom in/out moving your body backwards/forwards? This is what I do. PS I like the colour one ;)

I was hoping to get a dramatic shot of meat flaming on a grill but sadly there was not enough oil on the meat and/or the fire wasn't hot enough to produce the drama I was after.
However on the bright side the food and the company were both excellent.

I can smell the end of year AKA the finish line!
Took quite a few shots today and was a bit disappointed in all of them. Did my best processing this one.

Great shot Lawrence, I can almost smell that steak cooking! It's 08:50 AM as I write this, and now I want a steak instead of muesli....

Lucky you....we don't have any leaves still on the trees....your leaves are so vibrant and green.....great shot and pp

Thanks Chris - the leaves are so green here that sometimes I tone down on saturation to make them look natural. I think my camera also brings the greens out more than normal and it is something I watch for.

We had a very short but heavy downpour and I was hoping to catch a car driving in a flooded road but as luck would have it no cars came past at the right time.
i did shoot one old dear passing but by then the water had pretty much washed off but ...
I still like the shot.
