Well selling photos makes you a professional but don't give up your day job until your photo income exceeds your regular income. But, heh, you are movin on up.

Yes mom wanted it block printed to display on her bedside cabinet. Size 20 x 25.
She wanted two - one for the grandparents.
I added $10.00 to the price for all my hard work and have ordered them for her.
Pretty pleased that she liked it that much and pretty pleased I have SOLD a photo.

Does that make me a Professional?

Clearly time to upgrade to the D4 …. :D :applause:

:D Yes it does. You now have super powers :D

I was only thinking yesterday, because I really DIDN'T feel like taking any photos, that I am glad I don't do it for a job because I would no longer enjoy it.
I know that doesn't count for everyone but it would count for me. So.......I'd NEVER do it as a day job :D

Fair enough but I would love to be involved somehow on a daily basis. Maybe helping out in a shop or studio and just learning the skills and talking photography.

I think the not feeling like taking a photo stems from having to do the 365. Sometimes I find it so hard to get up and go shoot. I think going in to pre booked appointments with time restraints is totally different. Millions of people go to work (that they hate) everyday so a photography shop would be fun for me.

This is so true Vixen of many of us who do not do photography full time. We do it because we want to, not because we have to go out and do it everyday.

9 Months down! Hard to believe.

Had no idea what my intentions were today. In the end I took about 20 photos and none were too good although I was trying a few different things (such as remembering that I have a polarising filter on my 18-105).

So nothing too flash and a totally out of character urban shot from me - because I liked the sky.

Really hard to get up for a photo today. I went out twice and eventually decided to shoot something, anything ...

Found this restaurant which looked cosy. Might even try it one day.

Lawrence, I had a bit of catching up to do on your thread. Now I'm ajour again :)
Really nice photos coming from you these days, and congrats on your sale :D Nice work.

Keep them coming!

ps. The forum doesn't give me a like button at the moment, so excuse the lack of 'likes' ;)

Thanks Jonas. No worries about the "like" button.

Actually talking about that I liked the old system where you could see how many likes you had in total - it used to motivate me to get to the next hundred or thousand. Talk about vain!

And as an aside my mounted photos that I sold arrived this morning and the quality is mind-blowing. I am 345% certain mum will be thrilled when she collects them at 11.15 am today.

2nd October

The light gods are conspiring against me. It was too bright all day - well, until I took my camera out that is - at which point the heavens opened up!
Go figure.
So camped inside the front door I set the tripod up and shot this flower growing on the deck. A tad disappointing but there will be better days.

Disappointing? I think it is lovely...white against black is just perfect, you got great composition and symmetry with the flower, and I love the rain drops :D

Thanks Vixen - it just wasn't so much of a challenge. Simply sitting there on a stem.

So I then decided to take a selfie … and I am extremely happy under the circumstances.

I don't think every day needs to be a challenge. Some days we struggle some days are breezey. Bit like life in general really :D
Love your pussy cat portrait :D

I like the flower picture Lawrence, like Vixen says the simple black background and white flower is very striking. And I love the sharpness and detail in the cats face, without having that over-sharpened noisiness.
