The quest continues although I failed to wake up on time this morning as planned. Normally I wake up at 5.30 (latest) but not today. Only opened the eyes at 6.30 and that was too late.
So this afternoon I took a drive and went for a walk in the hope of "seeing" something. It wasn't easy for some reason. However I did take a few shots and have two for you guys today.

I seem to be in a monochrome phase!

The first shot was a disappointment. This fellow was across the street and I wanted a shot of him working but he spotted me and didn't look too pleased. I thought he had an interesting face.
The second shot was in a boxing gym where not much was happening and I was amazed at how bright and colourful the inside was. Where is the "Rocky" style gym when you need it? Anyway I did manage to get the guy kicking the bag in the background which added a bit of interest to the shot.

The difference between a cupple of seconds. I've go so many shots of people looking at me in a "what the hell are you doing with that camera?" Way. The second works in B&W if it was brightly coloured, in my eyes, it wouldn't of worked. It would have distracted from the shot.

Nice waterfall but the second photo is outstanding. Put that up on the largest monitor you have and you will see what I mean.

Sorry @RON - this nice compliment sneaked by me somehow. Thanks and yes I agree it does look good on a large monitor with everything else blacked out.

Very nice waterfall shot, but the second shot is one of my favorites that I have seen from you. (I'm a sucker for these type of shots). The composition is spot on. The mountain in the background is not over whelming and it actually enhances your foreground subject. I also love the lighting as well.
Overall, a fantastic job!!:encouragement::encouragement:

A good session today but I can't help feeling that better processing skills would bring more out of these to make them the "wow" photos I am looking for - where is Jake when you need him sitting next to you? :D

And I don't really like square crops but this one left me little choice - well I left me little choice by the way I framed it!

I quite like square crops. I used to do a lot of square shots and there is a certain skill needed to be able to take a shot knowing you will square crop it :D but I waffle....... I wanted to say I love those fun guy ;)

There was a meeting of Classic Cars down the local pub - apparently this happens the last Thursday of every month.

I had some fun and took about 50 shots, most of which are pretty decent. I will have fun processing them in quiet moments over the coming days but for now here are just a few.

I got there early to avoid the inevitable clutter that would be behind the vehicles. This first shot is with a pretty empty carpark but the big American cars had started arriving.
Colour and monochrome both work for me.

A Firebird for all the fans out there. I have some great photos of this vehicle so this is a little sample only.

I went inside for a beer (as is expected of one) and while having it was playing with and testing settings. Took a random shot and it turns out I really like it cropped 2 ways.
For those interested this is one of the owners of one of these lovely vehicles.

I couldn't resist as I was very keen to see how this came out.
It is the underside (rear suspension) of a 1930 pickup. you could literally eat off it.
