Feel a bit silly as I am so busy with processing older stuff. Just throwing this one
up so as I don't forget.
May add one or two later but for now it is up and I don't need to worry about it.
Nothing fantastic - just another attempt at changing something plain into something a bit more interesting through processing.

Larence, I love this tyre shot. Gritty and moody. Nice colors and contrast, plenty of pop.

If I may suggest something, next time go at the same angle but get closer. I would get the top left quarter of the tyre and rim.

You are foremost in my mind when I shoot tyres! :D

Are you suggesting only the top quarter and not the whole tyre? If so (or not) interesting idea.

I haven't used my 35mm for a while so gave it a run tonight on tripod.
The idea was to get as much detail as sharp as possible in this bamboo bar stool.
I am happy with the result. While processing I had a look at the monochrome and liked that even ore than the colour.
So you get two of the same but different.
Now you may ask why the legs are cut off. Simple answer is my backing sheet is small and I was limited.

Great pictures Lawrence!
I love the 35mm F1.8 - So sharp and yet so cheap to buy! Everyone should have one!

A day that will never be forgotten … all these years later it still goes on in one form or another! So sad.

Anyway onto today's photo ...

Coromandel Cafe LOL.jpg

This quaint little village comprises only these old "western" style buildings and it is hard (for me anyway) to depict them as I see them.
Oh and we even have horse rider's going through occasionally.

seems I only have 10 days left here.

Not much of a photo to show today but it did involve:
Off camera flash in a very confined space (book case)
Sharpening - something I am trying to learn
The usual dodging and burning - which has been my main form of processing up until very recently
Selecting
Blurring
Converting color to B&W
Spot healing
Switching between PS Elements 11 and Perfect Effects 8

I couldn't do 90% of these things even 3 months ago and have this forum to thank for it.
So although not a great photo I am pleased with it.

I do need to learn how to soften the edges of the selection

One of those days where things seemed to click for me. I have no idea why
And nice to get the shots in early too.
I went for a drive with no preconceived ideas and found a bit of a mixed bag.

I met Annie and her dog (no Annie picks though)

Then a couple of birds let me get real close. I purposely blew the seagull out to blend with the background.
He stayed on one leg for ages. So long that I started thinking he had lost the other one.

And this fellow was just minding his own business and wasn't fussed about me at all.

Shag LOL.jpg

And finally this guy with unusual transport. I wonder what he gets by way of mpg ...
I am particularly pleased with his facial features considering the hoody.

Thanks Vixen. To be honest I feel like my photos are boring. The processing has improved but I need to start improving the interest factor.

I feel that way about mine too. I think it's just because after 255 days we are finding it challenging to find stuff we haven't shot before. Don't know about where you live but I am out in the country so big events, urban & city shots are just not possible too often. I can do plenty of green grass and cow shots tho :D

So give us cows and grass Vixen. I like cows and grass. Lawrence, you post many interesting photos and I think the quality of your work has improved immensely.
