Day 141

Very conservative with my shutter today - as a result of the thread in "off Topic" :D

The following images were taken at a much slower rate than I normally shoot as a result.
No - that doesn't mean shutter speed, it means I took more time thinking about things.

The first is a fence that I tried to photograph the light.

Light on fence LOL.jpg

Then this next one it struck me how everything is leaning to the left.

Left lean LOL.jpg

And finally an ordinary scene that I concentrated on composition and brought some detail out in PP as well as removed some distractions.

It's saying, jump in, this image! :)

The river one is my favourite of the three because I have seen the before and what I have done to it (subtle) I couldn't have done as recently as 2 weeks ago. That is very pleasing to me.

I think you are on the right track by trying to capture the light. That is the very heart of photography. In the photo of everything leaning left could it be that you were leaning left? Let's think on that awhile. Keep chasing the light. You are improving in ways that you do not even see.

Day 142

Had a couple of hectic days of travelling.
Not as hectic as this poor fellow though. I must have been about half an hour behind him

Coromandel Oops LOL.jpg

The above taken with my 70-300.
Just to show how far he tumbled

Thanks Mai
I messed it up in two ways:
first of all I should have taken it from about 100 meters further back but by the time I stopped I couldn't be bothered to back up. It really would have been better with a longer view.
secondly I hand held it and at 1/5th second the image is blurred. It really should have been a tripod shot. I have no idea why I am always in such a rush.

So we live and learn ...

What was your iso? Exif data doesn't show on your images?

My ISO was 500 - I know I could have pushed that up to have a faster shutter speed and all but as I cam down from 110 KPH to a standstill my mind was just not thinking. I should have backed up 100 meters, set up the tripod and taken my time.

Day 145

Not much time before being admitted to hospital which was a 2 hour drive away. So I took a quick shot just outside the grounds.
