Excellent... so clear!! I was gonna ask where the boat pictures are!! :)

Pat in NH

Here is one for you Pat, just so you know I actually went to a race. This is the first boat race I have ever gone to and I learned a lot from the experience.

so, when do we see a d600 tips thread? It's looking like you 2 are getting well acquainted. Nice birds.
I'm not so sure I going to even start a tips thread for the D600 at this time. I had a lot of tips on the other tread and it was well received but a lot of the tips were good on many models and makes of cameras. It would be hard to do one on just the D600 alone.

I will post a couple more boat shots but to me if you have seen one you've seen them all.

I have seen racing boat races on Onondaga Lake in Syracuse. I don't know if they still have the races, but it was like formula 1 racing on water. My only concern was what happened to the people who ended up in the lake, considering Onondaga Lake is one of the most polluted lakes in the country. They even have signs warning people about eating mutant fish.

I shot this tonight at 7:00PM with my D600 and 70-200VR F2.8 lens. This was taken from the edge of the field well past 1st base. No sharpening was done on this picture.

Thanks Ted and Sam for your comments and to the others who liked the baseball shot. I took this image this morning of a sunrise under the Biloxi and Ocean Springs , Ms. bridge. Taken with my D600 and Tamron 24-70 F2.8 lens.

Hi Jeff
Your photos just get better and better, can I ask did you have any filters on the camera. I am trying to get the hang of this kind of photography and any help would be great.

I own a set of graduated nutral density filters and a polarizing filter and have never had much luck with any of them. The only filter I ever shoot with is the UV filter that stays on each of my lenses. So in answer to your question, I do not use filters of any kind other than the UV filter.

Blue Heron that was near me after taking the sunrise picture. D600 with Tamron 24-70 F2.8 lens. This is straight out of the camera except to re-size.
