Great photo - thought provoking although thinking what those thoughts might be.

I did ask. The couple thought it would be a great shot looking through the bars. I was talking to the "photographer's" wife and she was laughing so hard at him. And they thought I was funny because i was shooting them.

Re: Don's HDR attempts

Don I really enjoy your HDR photos. If I recall correctly you don't use the HDR on camera but prefer to shot 3 images with varying exposure corrections. Is that correct?

Would you mind explaining here again or pointing me to the post where you laid it all out?

I think it might have been in one of my own threads - I'll go check

I found it DON. For those who may want to know here is how Don does his HDR:

The HDR mode in the D5100 is not really that good. It only uses two exposures which is not really enough to really look that good. If you go with Bracketing you can get 3 shots very fast and you can set the amount of exposure difference to get the effect you want. If you set the release mode on continuous if will fire all three shots very fast which enables you to hand hold the shot. Then using software you can do the HDR there.

I do
HDR all the time that way with my D5100
