Don's Old Daily Dabblings

Re: Don's HDR attempts

Up to now I have only been doing three shot brackets since my camera is limited to that. This afternoon I decided to get the tripod out and try a 5 shot HDR. I still used the bracket mode in the camera but set it to -1 and did a 1 stop bracket and then set it to +1 and did a 1 stop bracket this gave me a 5 stop bracket. Processed with Nic's HDR Efex Pro and then selectively adjusted the color with Viveza. Finished off by using Dfine to reduce any noise that I might have had.

I mean the whole kit and caboodle...They're not over done and a pleasure to view...Cheers

Thank you for the compliment.

I am not a big fan of "Overcooked" HDR. For me I like to use it when there is a BIG difference in contrast. Like at the old mill dam the building is in shade and the sky was bright and beautiful. Part of the dam is in shade and part in bright sun. This to me is what HDR is made for.

Re: Don's HDR attempts

Nice work keeping it real. Your thoughts on 5 shots vs 3?

not really sure with this shot. I am going to the beach tomorrow for a few days and am hoping to shoot some sunrise/sunset shots and that more brackets would be better and if not I would have more shots to chose from.
