Used to go to a glider port back in the late 60's to watch, we always had a lot of fun watching them.
As a matter of fact it might have been that one because I was stationed at Camp Pendleton so it would have been 67-69 time frame.

Here's another version of Two Medicine before the red boat disrupted the mirror lake

Yeah, I think I do, too. Actually, this brings up another question I have about that photo. I'll post the two versions of the boat image in the feedback section.

Check out this bizzaro waterfall. It emerges from an underground spring and flows directly out of the side of the hill. Pretty cool, huh?
24-70mm; 5 exposure hand-held HDR

All great photos mate, you are making me want to take off my macro and put on my wide angle. But first I need to get my car fixed so that I can get away from the city ;)

It's been awhile since I've posted any photos in this thread, my apologies. This one is from the cliffs of Torrey Pines. It's a 2 image panorama and each image is a 7 exposure HDR.
14-24mm, f-9, ISO-100

Sweet, very sweet shot Dave. So so peaceful. Great!

I did a little club shooting last night for a buddy of mine. His band played last night at a small club here in San Diego called The Casbah. It's a total hard-core rock house but very small. It was a good time and I had fun experimenting with different settings. I've shot bands in small clubs before and usually remember to bring ear plugs but last night I forgot to grab them. And all day today my ears are still buzzing.

These are really cool. My future son in law is in a band and I would love to do this for them one day. Do you think I could trouble you for the Exif on these?
Just as a guide. I don't have the D800 but still ...

I believe all these images have their full EXIF data attached to them if you wanted the exact numbers but to summarize, I found that the light meter was way off and using both spot and matrix. If you listen to your meter you will blow out all your bright areas in order to achieve the desired 18% gray. Instead, I found that using an ISO of 1600 to 2000 and setting my shutter speeds between 60 and 100 I was able to keep the bright areas from blowing out. And because there was nothing in the darks that I was interested in, it didn't matter that they were gone. Your light meter will be screaming at you that you're under-exposing and I'm sure all cameras will have difference low-light tolerances so keep checking your output as you go.

(btw - all but one, the photo of the three guys laughing, were taken without a flash)

Nah... Since you have selected NO to edit options and right click save and download for your images, when we try right clicking on your image we get a copyright message saying we need permission before having access to the exif or saving the file as... So, maybe this could be on our want list for x-mas is Jdeg decides to give us a gift... :)

Esh, I forgot about that. I just turned off the NO edit preference so if Lawrence is still interested in the EXIF data, he can access it. And I agree, that would be a very nice gift for the board.
