Very nicely done
Thanks, Mike. I've been hit and run here the last week. How are ya? Hope all is good!
Nice touch with the water droplet and the B&W conversion.

Is that a Cuban or Mexican cigar? My guess is Cuban.

Very cuban, mexico exclusive. Pretty pricy now.
A chance not taken is a wasted opportunity
Must be a fake since Cuban sticks are illegal in the States. They sure are tasty, though!!![]()
Great fun in the snow shots David especially the 2 portraits![]()
Great catch up. Nice clear shots and very interesting to see your macro settings. I have the same lens and not getting these results
Thanks, Lawrence. I'm really digging the Tamron lens! So far, it's really just guess work on my part to get the shots. Some have worked and some not so much. Usually about a 1 in 10 keeper ratio; and that's just fine by me for now. Keeps the old noggin active trying to figure it out. LoL.
Are you using any lighting with your macros?
I am struggling to get sharp shots from close - the ones where the eyes are so dominant - due to shallow DoF. To increase this a smaller aperture should help a bit but then there is less light.
Yes sir. I've been using off-camera flash and sometimes fix the lighting depending on the subject and the effect that I want to get. I don't know if my technique is actually correct or what so I would call the proper way to do things, but some of them seem to be working for me so that's just fine. When I set up in my shop for another shot I'll try to get a picture of what I'm using and how. Maybe that would help? I'm definitely no expert but willing to throw my two cents in anytime if it would help someone else.
What subjects are you trying to shoot in macro? Insects or inanimate object's like flowers? Are you shooting indoors or out?
