That Red Tail Hawk I mentioned last fall.... he's baaaack.... I was walking the trash to the bottom of my hill and he was raising cane. My friend loaned me a 55-300... maybe this year ;) but he moves so blame fast. around the top of that old cedar tree.

Your getting some great captures with a 300mm lens limit.

Thanks! They are usually cropped quite a bit. :( But that is the way it will be for a good while with no funds to get a Tamzooka or another long range lens. First on priority is a good tripod and head, ND filters, Backpack for cameras... Food, utilities, taxes... :cheerful:

Day #62 Mar. 2

One bird today. A Road "Rider". I saw this guy in the back of my truck from the kitchen window. Grabbed the camera and shot through a dirty window. I'm going to have to talk to my wife about cleaning them. Evidently she is getting a little ... well slacking. Ha!

What? You expect me to pay?

If that is the way you are going to be, I will just ride on top of the camper shell.

OK, OK, I know I'm a Road Runner, so I will just get along from here.

And for @Danno, A few flying dove (Grey Ghosts)

Some kind of a hawk. I think it is probably a Red-Tail, but anyone is welcome to correct me.

Thanks for the dove shot @cwgrizz. I like the bell too. Brings back a memory. A friends mom on an adjoining farm in Wisconsin had one in the yard and that was how she called him home for meals. Man you could hear it for what seemed like miles. Very cool shot.

looks like a Peregrine Falcon

Roy, you are probably correct on that ID. It was quite a way off in the distance. In fact, I thought it was a dove flying when I took the shot. Ha! The Merlin Phone APP didn't show it. Hmmmm.
Thanks.

I happened to get a shot of a group of dove flying and got lucky. Ha!

The bell came from my Grandparents' house in OK. They had it in their yard to alert the neighbors if something was going on (At least that is what they told us so we wouldn't be ringing it for the fun of it. Ha!). My wife wanted it put up in our yard, but after I did it she said she didn't want it so high. It's probably up 10' or so. I did it that way thinking that my G'kids wouldn't be able to reach the rope for ringing it. I was wrong, they still manage. Ha!

Another Dove shot. Not as in focus as I would have liked, but it was flying fast and almost on top of me. Body and camera just don't move that fast. Ha!

It is that time of year when the local Crop Duster is out and about.
