Another day that went to the birds.
A couple shots of a Vesper Sparrow (I think)

And a House Finch getting a little nourishment from the newly budding Cottonwood trees.

Day #49 (continued)
I have been watching this Hawk nest, waiting for the hawks to return. Today I saw something, but wait... that's not a hawk. When I saw it was an Owl, I had to get a shot or two. The lighting was terrible, but I still had to try to capture the fact that an owl had taken up residence in a hawk's nest. I will be trying to keep an eye on this to see what, if anything changes. Ha!

looks like a great horned owl if you didn't already know Walt.

I did type horney owl lol, its as well I checked it.

It could be a Rufous-winged sparrow, but probably not an American Tree. According to the map showing their range, the American Tree doesn't venture into my neighborhood. Ha! I really can't argue with you on any of it as I am sure not an expert on birds (or anything else. Ha!), but just try to find them using the Merlin APP on my phone. It only has limited species listed (450 or so, I think). Thanks again for assisting.

Take a look at swamp sparrow; unlikely is southern AZ, but they have been seen there.

Trying to get caught up. It has been a busy few days.

Day #51 Feb. 20

This was a "First". Actually a couple of firsts. First time using the new Yongnuo flash for more than just play. First time shooting an indoor sports event.
My granddaughter tested for her Black Belt in a Kempo discipline.

Went back to the "Hawk" nest to check on the owl. I had an idea, but I was about 15 minutes too late to get what I had in mind.
