Day #54 (Continued)

A Ladder Back Woodpecker (Guessing because I was too lazy to look it up.)
View attachment 200140

This is a nice shot, but I keep being drawn back to this one because he looks a bit confused... like "Hey there was a tree trunk here yessssstereday".... kinda like that guy that had a few more than he should and cannot find his way home... ;) I know I am a little weird, but I cannot help it.

Day #56 Feb. 25
I have continued to get pictures every day, I just haven't had internet to post. Trying to catch up on posting.

A Red-tailed Hawk (Immature) I think

Day #56 (Continued)
A Crow with decent lighting angles for a change.

A Eurasian Dove (Collared) Dove are so quick in flight that I have problems getting decent shots. This makes two days in a row for semi-acceptable shots of them for me.

Same dove

This was one of my ideas for the weekly challenge, but some others beat me posting, so I went with something else for the challenge. Ha!

Day #58 Feb. 27

Today started with the 5K Run to benefit families of fallen Border Patrol Agents
2-27-16-cr__D7K1848.jpg

And then as I was driving back to my secluded desert, I spotted a long train of engines parked. I couldn't get close enough to get the angle to show all 200 + engines, but I did get this shot. They have been parked in the same place for weeks now.

Not much today. A few Mourning Dove in a tree.

Then I found a Barn Owl in some pine trees. He flew into this Mesquite tree.

@Danno, thanks and yes the Dove here are probably every bit as fast as yours. Right now they have really migrated to my area in search of nesting areas in the mesquite trees (I think that is why they are around). I do get MANY out of focus, in the bushes, missed completely type of shots. Ha! A shotgun doesn't have to be quite as precise. Hmmmm!

going with a Sharped Shinned Hawk, although I always get this and a Coopers hawk mixed up.
I am leaning more toward the Coopers Hawk. It is similar to the Sharp Shinned Hawk, but is a little larger with a larger head (according to Merlin).
