Loon on the lake
NIK_0311.jpg

Unfortunately the Loons didn't come close enough, never stay above the water for more than 10secs its seems and come up just about anywhere! They showed up in the evening and we saw them again early in the morning but none where I had good light. We did have an amazing experience as we sat around the campfire late at night though because we were right on the lake the loons must have been within feet of us because it awesome to hear the call of them. It started when some called from very far away but then the mournful sounding calls were returned (VERY LOUDLY) from very close. My daughter said it sounded kind of creepy but then they followed up with their laughing sound which made us giggle because it was immediately after she said it sounded creepy LOL They continued to call back and forth and it was lovely. No fantastic photos of the memory but these will do :)

Thirsty thirsty after running like fools in the lovely cool evening after a hot lazy day
Terrible composition but I like the spooky twinkle in Smokeys eye and the relaxed mellow look to Shylo, while Comet tries to nuzzle her way past the big (fat!) pushy boys
