LOL yes we were pleased it warmed up mikew :) -24 to -27 with 50-70km winds coming down from the north is damn cold especially when critters bust out of pens and you're fencing for 2 days. Its not easy keeping tension and banging in staples when you're hands are frozen not just cold but frozen. Yesterday was calm and it was lovely to get out for some fun. Kids wished they'd brought skates but I think they had more fun sliding on their boots anyways :) They'd run, slide on boots then throw themselves onto the ice and slide on their winter wear and boy did they fly across that lake :) Because of the wind it was quite smooth and they flew. Then they had fun playing hide and seek in the cattails, all things you can't do in the summer

I don't have a deere but I do have a Cat. Believe me if the wind blows the snow we have I will be on it. Life on the dozer is so much fun. Stay warm.

Brainfreeze- you know you're suffering from it when you spend entire day outside shovelling and playing in snow, then go outside in a bathing suit to warm up :)

No mtn in this area Nikonpup, its pretty flat just little hills and we're up on one of them. It was just a really weird cloud afternoon. Grey and hazy all day and didn't really see the sun until it started to set. It was bitterly cold and being in the open for a clear view the windchill (-37) was brutal so I only got a few shots at a couple places along the way. One of our dogs had a very scary incident so adrenaline was high and I was shaky so had to use high shutter so I didn't muck it up.

This morning I FINALLY got to take out my new 12-24mm. I've never used a wide angle before but I think it's going to be FUN!
Here's one I took shooting straight up when testing out lens before buying
NIK_9017.jpg

I was checking how it did at different apertures this was f8 which I think is the sweet spot
