After our first wine tour we had some fun with colour changing solar lights

Can't believe I went to a beautiful winery with lovely weather, beautiful shots, a camera bag with everything I might need except a BATTERY in my camera.... I was soooo mad at myself. SO I was the fool with nice camera on my shoulder but an iphone in my hand sigh

LOL I've done that . . . ran off to photograph a herd of wild horses with a camera bag full of equipment, and no camera. Thank goodness I had a PS in my pocket.

Unfortunately wildlife are like pets and children they just don't understand lighting and don't take posing suggestions...
He was a pretty ragged looking fella. We were about 12hrs south so it was HOT down there but he still looks to have some winter coat left over  and that horn looks like its gonna grow into his eyes

Here's another fun with solar lights

Scrappy's nemesis- this Jay kept stealing nuts off the tree

I followed these guys with my lens forever but these were the best I could pull off with the shade in the tree and wildlife just doesn't work with me on light and posing :)

little rainbow in the pink evening sky

By the time I tripped over critters, got through gates to a better position the sky was pinker but the rainbow already mostly faded

I've listened to these guys squawking and squabbling off and on most of the summer but they stay just out of my lenses reach.
Northern Harrier vs Red Tailed Hawk (I think it's a red tailed)

This has been a summer of lightning, crazy crazy lightning storms. Most were so close that going outside to capture would have been incredibly stupid. Trust me I went out in the first big one got set up in the kids playcentre and then the play centre shook and I was nearly deafened so headed inside. After that I only tired to capture the ones that weren't so close or moving straight at us. Nothing like being in a metal horse trailer late at night when lightning suddenly strikes because you're blinded by light, boom at the same time, I got out REALLY quickly!! then got blinded again when another strike hit almost immediately.

Anyways, here's some strikes not so close above us

Storm headed towards us with crazy rain and wind. I'd just gotten into the side door of the house and was able to catch a bit of this one

Another night of lightning but it was much farther off so I was only able to capture light ups not strikes

Ally the Alligator was the easiest to try to capture but I was in a small dark hallway with a whole bunch of others shooting through the chainlink fence too

I was quite happy to stay behind the chainlink though!
