Nice photos @Blacktop. How are you liking the 80-200?

Thanks @Danno. I like it, but to tell the truth, I'm not overly excited about it. The focusing is a little slow when I'm using AF-C, but quick when using AF-S. It is not an ideal lens for tracking subjects.

I also like the color rendition of this lens, but miss the VR. Over all, if I had the funds I would have gone the Tamron 70-200mm VC route as Horoscope Fish suggested.
Paying 500.00 dollars for an f/2.8 telephoto lens, I really can't complain.

I ended up with the Non VC version of the Tamron 70-200. It is a little slow to focus, but I like it. For the kind of photos I take it works well. I would have preferred the one with VC but it was just more than I could afford.

dang, look at that ISO on the kingfisher, i wish.

nice shots Pete.

Thanks Roy. I used the NIK deFine NR tool on that one, than did selective sharpening in PS. I wish I had more time taking the actual shot. He was on that branch for a few seconds only.
I only had time for a three frame burst. The second frame he already started to take off and the third frame he was already out of focus. No time to re adjust.

Been very busy with work lately. I only got to shoot today since last weekend.
Happened upon a Blue Heron standing around.

Then she decided to do a little fishing.

She was so happy about her fish, that she did a little dance to celebrate..

Then she just flew off.
