THIS is NOT technically correct.
The files you create/save are saved on your hard drive and can be synced to their cloud. You do not have too sync and or store YOUR files on their cloud.
Your files are intact, at all times, on your computer. You do not lose any capability to work on, or use YOUR files with any other software... Your NEF files, Jpegs, etc, are all intact on YOUR computer. No one is extorting anything from you. No one is preventing you from using YOUR files for any purpose.
If you cancel the subscription, you obviously do NOT get to continue to use their software at some point...
None of this has anything to do with the CLOUD... The Cloud is an option... You do not have too use the option. The software works entirely without any Cloud usage.
