Google set to delete inactive accounts

Oh and don't forget that people do also die and their online accounts don't go away. I had the task of closing the 2 Gmail accounts my brother used after his death last year. I waited about 6 months before doing it. One thing I can say is that don't trust that the cable company or cellphone...

Google set to delete inactive accounts

I would guess this won't affect many that are legit registered users here. Google does need to dump a bunch of old accounts, and I am responsible for dozens of them indirectly. End user demands to be able to receive scans by email like the copier says it can do. User cannot give me any details...

Unable to connect my Nikon D3500 with my laptop

If your only reason to connect your laptop to the camera is to transfer the photos, then I agree that the best way to do that is to forget the cable and use a SD card reader. Laptop PC's normally have a SD card reader already built-in to the the hardware these days. At least the last 3 laptops I...

    External DVD Burner for Mac

Interesting. If you follow the product link and search the reviews for "mac" there are multiple reviews that say it works, with only 1 that says otherwise. I have been using the same Memorex DVD-burner for about 14 years. I don't have any experience with something current that way.

Fx camera on Dx mode to shoot wild life?

Going back to the original question: Is this about using a DX lens on a full frame body? Or are you curious for specifically photographing with the crop using FX lens? There is no advantage to this in my opinion. It is simply a way of adapting existing gear until you can get the right gear...

    T mount lens on d5000

Now that I have an actual PC in my hands instead of a phone, I have the definitive answer. D5000 does not have the Non-CPU lens profiles like the D7000 series does. As I outlined, just move the mode to Manual and turn off auto-ISO. The only quick exposure control will be shutter speed. Focus...

    T mount lens on d5000

I owned a d7000 in the past so I don't have the hands-on for the lower models. With a d7000, there was 3 custom lens profiles you could save for non-AI lenses. My quick searches do not show if the d5000 is capable of that. Without profiles, you should be still able to use fully-manual. That...

    T mount lens on d5000

Welcome. T-mount is the standard for telescopes, so adapters for T to Nikon F mount are very easy to find out there, and inexpensive. There are many others besides the one in my link. Fotodiox Lens Mount Adapter Compatible with T-Mount (T/T-2) Thread Lenses to Nikon F-Mount Cameras...

Peak Design Oval Split rings with plastic sleeves

I have only seen the bare split-oval rings. I stopped using them after my last D80 died and went in the trash. All the newer bodies I bought since have had the Nikon triangle split-rings with a plastic guard, and they don't really require the Peak Design rings to be installed. They were issued...

Photo Shooting Menu options greyed out

Needa is correct. Although you can mount and use the crop-sensor 50-250mm lens on your Z5, it is only projecting a smaller size image on the central part of the sensor. So DX image size is the only option the camera will allow. Get a full-frame telephoto zoom instead.

    I need some advice

Judging from the fireflies that have photobombed my astrophotography sessions, I would say be prepared to change that shutter speed to the 1-5 seconds range. Even at 15 seconds exposure I get squiggly glowing lines if the bugs are flying around. But I don't know firefly behavior when mating. If...

    Raise your hand, Z owners!

I believe this is going to depend on the particular Z body model. I use a Z5, which has the slowest burst modes of the full frame mirrorless. I don't work that way often, really just activate it for birding and sports. Plus I have it set to blank the display instead of freeze-frame display.

    Raise your hand, Z owners!

Put it simply, you can toggle between 2 modes of viewfinder behavior. Either the viewfinder display turns black as images are being recorded or the view freezes with the image being recorded. Turning black replicates how the viewfinder of a DSLR is blocked while photos are exposed. The...

    Landscape sky issue

I too get skies that are far too gray on my Z5. That is with the Raw file, not just Jpg. My solution has been to apply a D750-Normal color profile in post. The sensors are basically the same between the 2 bodies. Works like a charm in my workflow. Don't ask me how it would be done in Lightroom...

Will I benefit much by going from D750 to D810?

You would have some reason to go to a D850. That is mainly because of considering the D850 may be the best evolution of the DSLR bodies that there is. D750 and D810 don't have enough difference to justify a change unless there is a specific feature you are missing. And you would lose the pop-up...

    A nice early-afternoon sun.

I thought this was after I changed from ISO 50 to 100 about half-way. Apparently it was about 2 shots before the change. I do not know why the ISO won't show in the exif plugins. I was basically looking for a fairly sharp image that started out dimmer.
