Welcome, I had some luck this morning getting some bird shots using my D800E :) Here are two birds in a fight Settings were, 1/1000sec f/7.1, 400mm. ISO was varying.

I used my car as a hide and for most part it worked quite well, while there was little light I used the 70-200 at f/2.8 but once I started getting more light I switched to my trusty old 80-400 at f/7.1 With these next lot of photos I was basically laying on the ground and the camera was at...

The sunrise was amazing.

A lone spoonbill.

Grey Heron with catfish.

I was actually surprised at how close the birds were to the crocodile, but I did see a pile of feathers so he may have been full.

Here I was trying 2 different things, 1 I wanted to get some star trails happening and 2. I wanted to get some lightning. The reason why I have not straightened the horizon is because it will cut off the lightning. Again I was mindful of the water behind me and the crocodiles.

I did manage this shot of the milky way. Again I sat in the car while it took the photo. This is a single exposure at 30sec, SB-910 was used to light the foreground (probably too much), ISO was 1000 and I used my 16-35mm at f/4

This is not a good photo, but gives you an idea of what I had to watch out for.

This is the 2nd Olive python that I came across. The first quickly got off the road and went for a swim. Here you can roughly see the size of it.

Well this morning I got up at 02:30am and decided to go to Fogg Dam, I had a few ideas of what I wanted and one turned out. I was alone and had to be watchful of Salt water crocodiles. I saw 4. Ok this first photo is a bad one but gives you an idea of where I went.
