    Hark 2018

This afternoon while I was photographing this for the doorway/entryway challenge, I was approached by a police officer. With my camera in hand, he asked what I was doing. :eyetwitch: When I told him I was taking photos of the entryway for a photo challenge, he said, 'This is private property.'...

    August 2018 Theme: Doors/Entryways

Entryway #1: Three Arches Historic Home, Fairless Hills, PA It's a historic building called Three Arches. Within the entryway are 3 doors: the main door, the cellar door, and under the middle arch, the third door is visible. This isn't my fist choice of locations, but due to some unforeseen...

    Hark 2018

This is from the same school where the statue of William Penn resides. I was told clocks used to be housed in the cupola.

    Post your statue

William Penn (cross-posted in my thread). Some classmates tell me one of the local high schools used to paint this statue red--one of the school colors from the opposing football team.

    Post edit win10/edge

I haven't had that issue myself, Nikonpup, and I backspace a lot while writing my responses. Sorry--maybe someone else can help you. And just a shout out to @nickt since his previous reply is still helping people. :)

    Hark 2018

Passed by a school and decided to stop. This statue is William Penn who lived in the area and who obviously had a great deal of influence on it. This next image is cross posted. I had to turn around and go back after reading the street's name. ;)

Post your favorite July 2018 shot

Mine is a toss up between these two. Both are from the Moon-Williamson Log House. I've photographed this log cabin in the past, but the lighting was always lackluster. It was much better this time. And I really like the image below because while editing it in Color Efex Pro 4, it opened my...

    Hark 2018

Here is the image from my post above. That image had a slight vignette added in Camera RAW. Then I went back and added a rectangular vignette. I definitely like this one better. :) And here is another image from the Moon-Williamson Log House--also used some effects from Color Efex Pro 4...

    Hark 2018

Here are a couple more from the Moon-Williamson Log House. The three chimneys caught my eye. I decided to try out a couple of effects from Color Efex Pro 4. This one uses Tonal Contrast. When I applied a vignette option from within Color Efex Pro 4 to the image below, I couldn't help but be...

    Hark 2018

I watched a number of video tutorials on sepia conversion and found one that allows me to convert my image to a Smart Object. Then I was able to apply the changes in ACR. This is where I'm at for now. Most likely I will go in and tweak the settings. The nice thing is since it's saved as a Smart...

    Post Your D7200 Photos

This is also posted in my regular thread. I keep getting blown away by this body. To me there is a definite difference between this sensor and my D7100. The only thing this camera lacks that I wish it had is a tilt screen. This is an historic building: The Moon-Williamson Log House built in the...

    Hark 2018

I was inspired by @RockyNH's sepia toned image in this week's challenge for old architecture that I went back to the log cabin to take additional photos. There isn't a vignette on this color image yet as I went from this into a sepia conversion. I like to add my vignette last. So far this is...

Weekly Challenge Jul 25 - Aug 1: Old Architecture

Since one of the options is to show an architectural element on an old building's exterior, here is a dovetail joint of a log cabin. This is the Moon-Williamson Log House which was built in the 1760's.

HDR My image your version of it.

I had to do a lot of digging to find this post by @BackdoorHippie - Jake wrote this several years ago. He shows how to create an HDR effect from one image. This should give you a good starting point to play with. :)...

    Post your latest purchases.

How many times does God or our gut try to tell us something, but we don't listen? Late Wednesday AND early Thursday morning I was prompted to look up info on a new flash sync cord. I had no intentions of buying one yet something made me peruse the internet looking up options. And I even went as...
