    Lotus flower pond

There is a very large park literally right across the street from the hospital where I work. I pass this pond, which is about 3-4 acres ± every day after work and it is filled with Lotus flowers. I spent the last 2 days after work photographing it. Below are a few images from the past 2 days...

The boudoir shoot went so well.......................

That her husband wanted another portrait that could be on display in their den that was better suited for public viewing but still showed off the sensuality of his wife. He liked the more "glammed up" version so I brought along the same MUA and she duplicated the hair and makeup from the other...

    Wabbits

This was our little "Lionhead" bunny "Thumper" when he was a baby. He would fit nicely in the palm of my hand when this photo was taken. When grown, he had a huge mane, hence the name "Lionhead"

    Wabbits

A cute little fella, not long after sunrise. The EXIF is wrong, I rarely take the time to change the setting for manual focus lenses. This was taken with the 600mm f/4 ED-IF AIS

So what lens to shoot the moon?

I use my "Beast", my 600mm f/4 AIS Nikkor, TC-300 teleconverter and my D7100 on a gimbal head and preferably my heavy duty Bogen tripod. With the crop factor, that is 32x. It seems to work ok!

    Back in the saddle

After a long layoff after the death of my son in law I did a boudoir shoot for a woman who advertised on Craig's List. Not a bad gig,, $250 for about 90 minutes worth of work! The old tried and true D700 and 85mm f/1.4 AIS delivers again! I think I like her better with more understated makeup.

Not really sure when I will pick up a camera again or post on this site..............

Mine and my inlaws families have endured an unspeakable tragedy. My son in law shot and killed himself the other day, leaving Daddy's little girl a widow at 29. I am still trying to wake up from this unspeakable nightmare. Suicide is ALWAYS a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Certainly not the best of news

But my wife has decided to throw in the towel after 35 years of marriage and almost 40 years together. I don't relish starting over at 60 but after the lies and stringing me along to think she was still willing to work on it I guess it is time to move on. Look on the bright side, now I will have...

Super "Wolf" Moon over St. Louis, MO

On a balmy 5º MO night. Supposed to go down to -6º tonight. D7100, the 600mm f/4 AIS "Beast" and TC-301 2x teleconverter. ISO 400. 1/400 @ f/11 (moon shot rule of thumb) I was not outside for more than about 6 or 7 minutes and the legs of the tripod were already so cold I they stung my hands...

    Stacked image #2 Clover Flower

Very nice! Stacking is one of the greatest things to happen to macrophotography since the invention of the macro lens! Below is 10 stacked images taken of a jumping spider that was only 5mm long!

    Cassie M (NSFW)

I managed to get in one shoot before I left NH. The setup was simpler than I am used to using but since all of my studio stuff was 1500 miles away I made do with that I had, only two of my Sunpak 555's bounced into white umbrellas. She was a blast to work with!

Not as much time to shoot up here as I would like............

The same image, only in color. I prefer the B&W myself. The B&W would look terrific in 16x20
