    help with Levitation Photography

Agree with Don but here is the EXIF info of the jpeg evidentially not stripped. I would say a manual lens (non-cpu) was used they all have a similar angle so maybe a green screen and then added the background. Not sure if some one could jump and dial the phone so it may have been photoshopped...

I have the Sekonic L358 and its really worth it. If you can catch Joe Brady on the web he really and I mean really explains how to use this meter outside, inside and using a flash and ambient light. Here is an example that I did outside speed light on light stand with the plastic clip on...

Triggers & Receivers - Cybersync vs PocketWizard

You can also use the L358 to do ambient plus flash out doors. It will give a percentage of flash. If you have a table next to a window that has some good sunlight (in Erie its bright and sunny) put the L358 in flash mode like the previous from fred. Set your flash in manual mode with the...

    Nikkor 50mm f1.8 D - Question

Do you have an example? The DOF is very shallow when the lens is wide open. What helps is a DOF app if you have a smart fone or iPad like. That helps. Here is one from today but with flash at 1/250 @ 5.6. You have to remember the lens is 1.5 x 50 which is a 75 MM FOV and rule of thumb is 1/75...

Calumet Genesis SP692n GN 50 does wireless and Commander/Slave Mode

    SB700 Remote operation

If you look further down in the next post I picked up a flash from Calumet the only down side is that it does not have High Speed Sync (FP) but has a high sync speed but I am not sure if my Trigmasters can go that high. I have had success indoors with the Olympus CLS (similar to Nikons) as the...

    Do you use lens VR?

From the old school never; I use doorways, trees, anything stationary, tripods, monopods even a 1/4 x 20 bolt and washer welded to the slot of the bolt tied with a string and looped to the toe of my shoe (Boy Scout way). Pay attention to shutter speed ( 1/focal length) is usually the slowest...

Calumet Genesis SP692n GN 50 does wireless and Commander/Slave Mode

Recently I upgraded to D7000 from an Olympus E1 and was able to use the Olympus FL50 flash in auto and manual mode. I do have 5 FL50's (3 -r wireless similar to Nikons CLS and 2- non wireless FL50's but have also optical slave modes). Yes I do use them in the strobist way with Aputure triggers...

    Using Manual Mode

Here is my take: Manual Mode and no vibration use common sense and proven practices in taking pictures with your camera and you will be amazed. Now why? You ask. A lot of "older" camera users came from cameras that had no auto functions; all they had was a primitive light meter an example a...

    Any Strobists Here?

Here are 3 done outside using 1-flash and a light stand and the most important piece of equipment is flash/ambient light meter doesn't mater which brand but one that will read the ambient and the percentage of flash 30 to 40 % is my sweet spot. Once you figure what your flashes can do at let say...
