    My crappy wedding photos.

Okay. Flash needs to be off the camera or higher. TTL at weddings as far as I am concern is hit or miss because of other type of ambient lighting, white dress etc. So need to learn how to use a flash in manual mode. When I started it was #5 bulb and 24 exposures, egad I dated myself at least...

    Post your birds (2)

I was taking some images at the bird feeder through a double pain sliding glass door using a D7K mounted with a 300mm AIS ED F/4.5 film lens. Notice the odd background may be caused by the glass and the angle I am at. Then a Mourning Dove came to inspect me.

    **Nikon 135mm 2.0 Prime Lens**

Thats my next lens. Here is my 85mm 1.8D of my grand daughter. Used a Genesis SP692n CLS TTL and the SB700 in Commander Mode (no light added). The SP692 may have had -exp compensation because I wanted the tree to be lit up. This is cropped. Amazing what the 135/2 will do. Lou Cioccio

    max flash sync speed

If you are unable to use HSS you could invest in a Light Meter that does both ambient and flash like a Sekonic L358. It can take the ambient plus flash; move the jog wheel to get 30% flash. If you do it enough times plus whatever modifier you are using and power setting of the flash (manual...

I use it all the time (L358) when I use strobes and also outside I will use a flash with ambient (the flash at 30%) as the meter L358 tells. Flash with a diffuser and ambient. Although not taken with a Nikon but you get the idea. Lou Cioccio
