Here's how I do it, using LR4 and CS6 - in LR, while displaying the EXIF, hit CTLR & Print Screen to copy the screen. In CS6 (or some other photo editor) open a blank sheet. Paste into blank page and then crop the EXIF. Should end up like this:

Much better without the watermark. Interesting shot. Nice lighting. Great contrast. Since we're nitpicking, you might consider getting rid of the gap in her hair by her left shoulder.

I shot this of myself a couple of weeks back to check out a black background (and also draped a black blanket around me). Lighting was an SB-800 shot through a 24" softbox about 1' from me on my right. D600 w/ 70-200 2.8 VRII ISO 200, f/4, 1/80 sec. Manual flash @ 1/8. Virtually no ambient light.

I've had the Tokina for almost 2 years and find it very good for macro work. Great build guality, ability to quickly swtch from auto to manual focus and super IQ. Only thing lacking is VR, which is not that limiting as you can see in this hand held shot @ 1/60, f/5.6 ISO 200 Here's one...

Helped a friend out yesterday on her first "paid" shoot. Went along for moral support and got to be the second shooter (she was shooting with D5200). Hand held shot with D600 and 70-200VRII, BUT...lousy framing chopped off her right thumb. SOOC except for 4x6 crop..

Self portrait - testing out 3 light system after arrival of third SB-800. Lighting came out OK, but I'm pretty goofy looking! If I could just get my wife or my dogs to pose for me........

For the machinery, you need a speedlight. Your on-camera flash probalby won't cut it. Meter for the ambient light and put the flash on manual. Depending on how close you are to the machinery will determine on the power setting and zoom setting of the flash. For waterfalls, flash won't work...

Here's a hummingbird shot with off-camera flash @ 1/250 sec. I should have shot at a slower SS to allow for more ambient light. But the flash "froze" the action. If you're shooting anything at night with flash, the last thing you want to do is shoot at 1/1000 (imho).

Agree with fill flash. Shot this pic Sunday and metered on the sky, using fill flash on subject (my grandson).
